1.6 Litre Supercharged Tritec Engine for MINI Cooper S

The Tritec company and engine plant began as a joint venture between Chrysler and Rover Group (a part of BMW Group at that time). The factory in brazil produced the majority of engines used across the first generation MINI range. The petrol engines ranged from 1.4 litre naturally asperated units found in some versions of the MINI One to a 1.6 litre Supercharged model, as found in the First Generation MINI Cooper S.

In 2007 BMW sold its stake in Tritec to Chrysler.
